Our Bury St Edmunds has come up with a brilliant virtual food festival which is running throughout the town in February. Great if you are a social media addict like me. Look out for the hashtag #ffff on Twitter to see who has a special festival offer or promotion running. First up for me is Pea Porridge, our SuffolkFoodie Dish of the Day for February.

Manor Barn are hosting a number of Mary Poppins inspired Christmas Parties.The supercalifragilisticexpialidocious themed nights will include arrival drinks, a mouth-watering three course meal, a disco and .... "drum roll" .... they have a choreographer from Strictly Come Dancing working with them to create some fabulous entertainment for you. Prices vary from £40.00 to £45.00. The dates still available are Saturday 29th November, Friday 5th December, Thursday 11th December, Saturday 13th December, Thursday 18th December and Friday 19th December.
Pouring with rain all day but the ackee and saltfish, curry goat and jerk chicken keeps on coming at Notting Hill Carnival.
Want to learn how to prepare and cook fish? Billingsgate Market staff are running a Summer Seafood School for families with children aged 7 to 13 on mornings and afternoons in August. But they do all kinds of other events and training too...I feel a SuffolkFoodie outing coming on...
At suffolkfoodie hq we have decided to have our AGM on Monday. A full day - packed with policy, planning, procedure, blue sky thinking and getting our ducks in a row. Our shareholders and directors will be anxious that we get it right. Good thing there are only the two of us.
...we have lost 48 feta and pepperdew muffins...! Did we sell them by mistake thinking they were cornmeal (but they had great big pieces of feta sticking out...hard to miss) Or are they still in Granny's freezer? We have no idea where they went. If you think you saw them - or even ate one, let us know. Unless of course you took the whole lot (we did have one teenager breaking into camp-kitchen looking for a 3am cheese scone) in which case - we hope you liked them.
We really need to post the recipe up for these because it's soooooo good, easy, cheap and very impressive. Here are some we are making for PettaFiesta. We put a shake of smoked paprika on the bottom and some grated cheese, then changed our minds and on the next bake put it on the top. Great with soup instead of bread - we will be serving them with the chili - and maybe for breakfast too.

At the arty Alde Valley Spring Festival we found Henrietta's Pop-up Patisserie which was tucked away inside White House Farm at Great Glemham. Tea and cake for two cost £6. Wow!

Ely's Food and Drink Festival - 4th and 5th May 2014 .. an invitation to food traders

This week is Farmhouse Breakfast Week. Today I made ...wait for it.... balsamic roasted tomatoes squashed onto toasted rye bread, topped with stir fried mushrooms and spinach, griddled halloumi cheese and a poached egg...what a pig!

All Manor of Events in Henley, outside Ipswich, are holding Christmas in Oz themed parties. This is a really original place to go for the staff Christmas party. Each year the theme is different and we really enjoyed the chance to spend the evening in Oz. The food was very good ( Christmas menu ) and the decor brilliant.
Look at this for a bonfire! We cooked curry in our potjie pots, enough to feed 30 people
